PANSY 1 BINGO BLUE BLOTCH - NEEDLE PAINTING

The pansy is worked in the method of needle painting which is the blending of straight long and short stitches using different shades of DMC floss.

Working the embroidery: The stem of the pansy is worked first as it is the most behind are of the embroidery and then the two leaves. A split stitch line is worked around the leaves to make the edges neat and smooth and then the leaves are worked in rows of long and short stitch. The veins of the leaves are worked in stem stitch.

The behind petals are worked working to the foreground petals.

A split stitch line is worked around the behind petal and then the first row of long and short stitch is worked over the split stitch line.

The two side petals are worked last as they are the most foreground petals of the pansy.
