The
design is painted onto cotton velveteen fabric.

The
design is padded with felt. Some areas are padded with 2 layers of
felt, and the remainder with one layer.

Crochet
cotton is sewn down on the feathers for padding.

The
body of the Rooster is worked over with Japan Thread.

The
head of the Rooster is worked over with a single strand of passing
thread couched down with red Au Ver a Soie silk thread.

The
feathers across the back of the bird are worked in No. 7 Bright
Check Purl couching the purl chips over the crochet cotton padding
like sewing down flexible beads.

The
tail feathers are worked in No. 7 Smooth Purl couching the purl
chips over the crochet cotton padding like sewing down flexible beads.

The
head, beak, body and feet are outlined in super pearl purl or very
fine pearl purl.

Flowers
are worked around the feet of the bird in a spangle and bead at the
center. Five No. 7 Rough Purl petals are worked around the spangle. A
spangle is sewn down for the eye.
