GOLDWORK RAM WORK IN PROGRESS The design is tacked onto 25 count black Lugana ground fabric. The face of the ram is worked in a blackwork pattern using 5 different shades of gold Kreinik #4 Metallic Braids to create shading. The blackwork pattern is continued down the neck. 2: Face worked in a Blackwork Pattern 3: Neck worked in a Blackwork Pattern Pearl purl outlines are added to the face and ear to create definition. The horn is padded with waxed crochet cotton. Over the crochet cotton padding different textures of gold purl chips (beads) are sewn over top. The horn is completed, additional stitches added to the neck and a spangle is added to the eye. 6: Working the Horn 7: Finished Embroidery Close up of the Horn Close up of the Mouth EMBROIDERY SIZE Height: 3 ¾ inches (9 ¼ cm)     Width: 3 ¾ inches (9 ¼ cm)  PREPARATION TIME Tracing the design, prick and pounce method of transfer, and placing the fabric into the stretcher bar frame: 1 hour EMBROIDERY TIME 45 hours BACKGROUND FABRIC USED 25 Count Black Lugana THREADS USED Pearl Purl, Kreinik #4 Metallic Braids, Smooth Purl, Rough Purl, Bright Check Purl, Wire Check Purl, Spangle.
