My
name is Tanja Berlin, I trained at the Royal School of Needlework in
all aspects of Hand Embroidery for three years, from 1990 -1993
gaining valuable experience in embroidery and teaching. I spent a
further two years in the workroom working on restoration,
conservation and commission work. I now teach through out Canada and
the USA at national embroidery seminars and at needlework chapters

If
you are in the Calgary (Alberta) area or else where and are
interested in having a private class at my home please contact
me. I can
accommodate 8 people comfortably in my workroom at my home. I have a
set charge per hour which is divided by however many people attend
the class. You can come and work one of my kits, the shortest class
would be an hour for the shadow work, and then my other techniques
are usually run over 7 to 12 hours. You can also take a class on your
own project. A class can be taken over a weekend, weekdays or split
into a few hours in the day or evening. There are hotels and bed and
breakfast accommodation in the area if you wish to come over a few
days. The Calgary international airport is a 15 minute drive from my home.
I
am also willing to teach at your own home. If you live outside of
Calgary there will be a charge for the travel expenses i.e. gas,
flight. I will bring to the class a wide selection of my embroidery
pieces for you to look at and my embroidery kits and tools and supplies.
I
teach my classes in a relaxed but informative method, demonstrating
all aspects of the embroidery and providing detailed instructions in
all my kits. I really enjoy teaching, passing on the embroidery
knowledge that I have, as I think it is important that the
traditional form of embroidery continues through the generations.

Maximum 22 Students (Negotiable) for 6 Hours of Teaching
