Class Description
The
purple pansy needle painting on-line class is suitable for all
levels of stitchers and is written with the beginner in mind. Needle
painting is a surface embroidery technique so there are no worries
about having to count the threads of the fabric. In this fun on-line
class learn the method of transferring the pansy design onto the
fabric (optional) and then working the embroidery in stem stitch and
long and short stitch to create this realistic pansy.
Kit Details
The
kit has a 17 page instruction book with step-by-step diagrams of how
to work the stem stitch on the stem and long and stitch on the leaves
and petals.
Materials
in
Kit:
1 Piece of Southern
Belle Muslin Fabric 11 inch by 11 inch. The
fabric is a 100% cotton muslin fabric which has 220 threads to the
inch so is excellent quality and perfect for the needle painting embroidery.
There is an option of purchasing the kit with or without the design
marked on •
A range
of ten DMC embroidery floss's arranged on a numbered floss
template • One
No. 10 crewel needle
• One Needle Threader
The
kit will be sent after registration and payment and will arrive 1 -
2 weeks prior to the beginning of the class.

The
above tools can be purchased below the class registration.
On-Line Class Details
The
student will work the Purple Pansy needle painting embroidery over a
one and half month period. The on-line student will receive a pansy
kit with instructions and three separate lessons which will be posted
in PDF files on my website.
First
lesson on Friday 10th of February
Second
lesson on Friday 24th of February
Third
lesson on Friday 9th of March.
The
online class will end on Friday 30th of March giving the student
ample time to work the embroidery and post any questions.
When
the PDF lesson is posted the student will be able to download the
file and print off the lesson. The lesson will remain on my website
from the posting date to end of the class so the student can download
and print of the lesson at their leisure. The lessons are exclusive
to participants of the on-line class. The lessons will have colour
work-in-progress photographs of the pansy with drawn on stitch length
and direction indicators to keep the student on the right track and
what not to do when working the long and short stitch. There is no
audio aspect with the on-line class but there is the opportunity to
correspond with the designer - Tanja Berlin and to post pictures of
your work for advice.
Email
correspondence with the tutor Tanja Berlin will be via a yahoo group
specifically for the Pansy Needle Painting class through The
Shining Needle Society. When you
sign up and pay for the class your email address will be passed onto
the Shining Needle who will help set you up in the yahoo group for
the class.

Registration
and payment for the class can be taken securely
through the Berlin Embroidery Designs website.

You
have the option of paying for the class by credit card or PayPal.
The costs are in Canadian dollars. The Canadian and USA dollar are
around Par. You can check the following Currency
Converter for the approximate
exchange rate that you will be paying in the currency of your
country. If you pay by credit card or PayPal you do not need to
worry about converting the amount from Canadian dollars to the
currency of your country as the credit card company or PayPal will do
this for you and the amount will be in your own currency on your
credit card bill or PayPal billing.
Embroidery
tools below the class registration and other items can be ordered
from the website and mailed with the on-line class kit but there
could be an extra charge for mailing. I will email you with a
confirmation of your order with mailing costs prior to processing
your order.
