BEGINNERS GUIDE TO GOLDWORK

Soft back or soft back, 80 pages, written by Ruth Chamberlain and published by Search Press.

This book gives some good advice on how to prepare fabric for goldwork. The techniques illustrated in the book are off the sampler featured on the front page of the book, and there are some great photographs on how to do couching down silk threads and Japan threads over string and in the method of Or Nue and other techniques, it is a good reference book and there is a nice use of colour with the gold threads. Unfortunately there is not a line diagram of the sampler in the book so that it can be easily replicated.
