A-Z of Thread Painting - Siamese Cat
"Having completed several of Tanjas kits, this piece was a good opportunity to put into practice the techniques and stitches learned. Her instructional materials are sequentially well structured, and her illustrations are precise and highly detailed. I unequivocally recommend her site to anyone interested in learning the various forms of fine embroidery, as she provides the very best teaching environment and options for doing so." A-Z of Thread Painting - Wolf
Wolf Worked by Jane Varner in Florida, USA When working on an embroidery with lots of different colours Jane had this excellent idea to thread up the colours to be used into separate needles, pin them to felt and label them in order ready for use. You can also have the strip of felt on the side of the embroidery, and when you are not using a colour bring the needle and thread up through the fabric to the top of the work (with-in the desgin) and pin it to the appropriate colour number. In this way you do not have to finish off the thread or remove the needle. When you need to use the thread again just take it back down through the fabric and carry it across the back of the work (behind the stitches) and continue embroidering with it. This saves you having to start and finish your thread and saves you time and aggravation trying to figure out which colour you need to use.
