Needle Painting Bird: Burrowing Owl
Baby Burrowing Owl worked by Ekaterina Ozerova in New Jersey, USA Ekaterina worked the Baby Burrowing Owl from the A-Z of Thread Painting Book. She personalized her embroidery by changing the grass and adding dandelions which bring out the colour in the owls eyes. Adding flowers to bird and animal embroideries is a great idea. I design most of my embroideries to be taught over two days which means that regretfully I have to miss out flowers from some designs as there is not enough time to teach the animal and flowers in two days. Please feel free to adapt any of my needle painting designs to suit your taste as Ekaterina did.

"I started the project at Seminar 2008 in Kelowna. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying stitching together. The instructions were clear and precise. The Robin worked up quickly and was a Fantastic project for the summer. As I stitched in our summer room, I watched the Robins in our back yard, and thought how similar mine looked to them. Thanks Tanja for many enjoyable hours of stitching." Beryl Burnett in Manitoba, Canada |
