IRIS APPLIQUE
The
Iris Applique is for all levels of stitchers. Three Iris's are
appliqued using organza and silk fabrics on a silk fabric background.
The
most behind Iris is appliqued first using variegated organza fabric.
The
right and left Iris's are appliqued in silk fabrics and embellished
with embroidery stitches.
The
leaves are also worked in organza fabric, silk fabrics and
embroidery stitches.
The
kit comes with the organza and silk fabrics clearly labelled so that
you can easily identify which fabric is for which petal and leaf, the
silk fabrics are additionally prepared with a piece of lite HeatnBond
ironed onto the back of the fabric to prevent the silk fabric from
fraying. The white silk ground fabric comes with the design hand
drawn on.
You
are provided with templates for each of the petal and leaf shapes
which you draw around and then apply individually to the silk ground
fabric. You are provided with enough silk fabric to cut out three of
each petal or leaf shape incase you make a mistake when cutting out
the shapes.
There
are detailed instructions and diagrams for the application process
and for all the embroidery stitches. I have written the instructions
with the beginner in mind.

recommend stretcher bar frames to work applique embroidery in as you
can get excellent tension on all four sides of the embroidery
