ANIMAL PORTRAITS

ANIMALS: If you would like a portrait of your favourite animal, simply mail me or email me a picture of the animal and I can give you a quote for the cost of the embroidery. If you decide that you are not interested in an embroidery I will return your picture at no charge. My animal portraits are worked in hand embroidery using single strand of DMC floss in the needle at one time, typically a range of 12 - 16  different coloured threads are used in the whole embroidery. The portrait is worked in long and short stitches, thousands of stitches are worked in the same direction and colour as the fur of the animal that I am working. The stitches catch the light giving the animals fur a glossy look as in nature.

A portrait begins at $650 Canadian dollars for a 4 inch by 4 inch embroidery.

$950 Canadian dollars for a 5 inch by 5 inch embroidery.

$1260 Canadian dollars for a 6 inch by 6 inch embroidery.

$1568 Canadian dollars for a 7 inch by 7 inch embroidery.

To discuss a commission please Contact me there is no obligation or commitment on your part.

RED FOX

I have designed the fox to be taught as a two embroidery day class. I also take commissions for the fox embroidery.

The embroidery is worked in the technique of Needle Painting. The stitches worked are either long and short or are all the same length but alternate in positions so that the colours blend together. The embroidery is worked from the background to the foreground so that a dimensional picture is created. I use one strand of DMC floss in the needle at the time.

I offer beginners to advanced kits in the Needle Painting technique.

The water was painted first and then silver Japan thread sewn overtop for definition.
